Learn to forgive and go from hurting to healing and hope. Drawing on the presenter’s extensive professional experience, doctoral research of interpersonal forgiveness, and recent books, The Path to Forgiveness (May, 2018) The Path to Forgiveness Study Guide (March, 2019), participants will deepen their understanding of and gain new insights into the forgiveness process.

They will learn about what forgiveness is and is not, myths and misconceptions of interpersonal forgiveness, reasons to forgive, the benefits of forgiveness, strategies for practicing forgiveness, while also considering the effects of forgiveness on one’s cognition, affect, and behavior. The above mentioned books may be purchased from the speaker at a discount, purchase information will be given after his presentation.

Tom Zawatowski will be joining us from 7:05-7:25 pm.  Tom  is Ohio’s leading activist.   He will be bringing us information about the dynamics of the Ohio US Senate and Governor’s races as well as the Ohio State House and State Senate races.  Tom has been recognized as one of the top liberty group leaders in the nation for his efforts to defend the legal right of Liberty groups across the nation and he produces the popular We The People Convention Podcast which is Posted Every Friday at www.wethepeopleconvention.org.

 

 

Speakers’ Bios:

Preston VanLoon- With a passion for making a difference in the lives of people and organizations, Dr. Preston VanLoon has served as a College Professor, Mental Health and Substance Abuse Counselor, Pastor, Board Certified Chaplain, and Director of Spiritual Care. He also has experience as a Bioethics Consultant and Mental Health First Aid Instructor. His education includes a doctorate in Educational Psychology with a specialization in Human Development and additional graduate studies in Special Education, Christian Education, and Biblical Studies. Dr. VanLoon is the author of The Path to Forgiveness: Moving Forward with Hope and Healing One Day at a Time and The Path to Forgiveness Study Guide. He has spoken domestically and internationally on a variety of topics including interpersonal forgiveness, the topic of his doctoral dissertation. Dr. VanLoon has two sons and lives in Mandan, ND with his wife, Mary, and Rocky, their golden retriever, a Certified Therapy Dog.

Tom Zawistowski- Tom, is the CEO and Founder, with his wife Nanette, of TRZ Communications, a 38 year old technology company based in Akron, Ohio.  In 2009 he was one of the founders of the Portage County TEA Party, for which he became the Executive Director in 2010, a position he still holds.  

In 2011, Tom was nominated by liberty leaders around the state to head a group of volunteers that was challenged with the task of putting on the first ever state convention for liberty minded citizens.  His “We the People” Convention which was held at the Columbus Convention Center during the 4th of July weekend of 2011 was attended by over 1,000 Patriots.
